Pumpkin Decorating Contest

(Be sure to read to the bottom - it is pretty funny)

Each year Jessup Elementary has a pumpkin decorating contest. Grades K-3 and 4-6 are grouped together. Out of those groups there is a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner, and one Grand Prize winner.

For the past 3 Years - Alexis has been the Grand Prize Winner! After winning each year I tell Alexis ~ It is pretty hard to top the Ladybug Pumpkin or the Hamburger Pumpkin. (That was her K and 1st grade decorated pumpkin winners) So today I find out that she won the Grand prize again. We created a bubble gum machine. We started about a week ahead of time because Alexis had to first paint the pumpkin white and then we had to glue buttons on it so I knew that it would take a while. Anyway, she is the reigning champ 3 years straight! And yes, I told her again tonight "Alexis, I don't know that we will be able to win grand prize next year"

Joseph also decorated a pumpkin - this year he created a baby girl pumpkin and named her Josephine :0) Joseph also placed in the contest - I am not sure if it was 1st, 2nd or 3rd. I will find out tomorrow. I must say that his was REALLY cute.

Here are some pictures of the pumpkins - (Joe posed with his pumpkin but Alexis had just thrown a HUGE fit because she wanted her hair curled before school and I didn't have time so her eyes were red from crying. She said that she didn't want to be in a picture looking like that - for all who know Alexis and her stubbornness - I am sure you are not shocked by her attitude)

This evening our Church had a Halloween Carnival for the kids.
They ate dinner together and then participated in games galore!

Carving Pumpkins

This afternoon we carved our pumpkins and had a great time! We ended up with the best looking pumpkins in Cheyenne.

Flu Shots = HSM3

Last week I scheduled an appointment at Cheyenne Children's Clinic for the kids to get their Flu Shots - They were not thrilled at the thought and probably worried about it all week.

What they didn't know was that I bought High School Musical 3 tickets as a reward for being so "big" and getting their shots.

Surprisingly to Clint and I - All 3 of them got their shots and not one tear was shed. They were so BRAVE! This afternoon we went to see High School Musical 3 and to tell you the truth I am not sure who was more excited ~ Them or Me

I love the first 2 HSM movies so I was pretty pumped up to see this one too. It is pretty sad that I can sing every song from the first two movies with them. What can I say...It is the modern day Grease! (BUT EVEN BETTER) #3 was pretty good - I am sure as soon as it comes out on DVD we will be purchasing it to add to the other two. Alexis and I will probably spend days on end watching it :0)

Happy 11th Birthday Hailey

I am a few days behind at getting Hailey's 11th Birthday pictures posted.

Unfortunately for us ~ this year Hailey was at her Mom's for her Birthday so we had to wait until this week to celebrate. On Thursday we had a "Birthday Dinner" at McDonald's (Hailey's Choice) and I left straight from work to meet them there. Poor Clint forgot the camera so we took pictures this evening of her with her cake.

She is such a beautiful young lady!

Old Time Alexis

Alexis' daycare has a professional photographer come in once a year and take pictures of the kids. This year they had "Old Time" photos taken. There were about 8 different poses to choose from and they were extremely expensive to purchase so I picked a small package with only one pose ~ it was a tough decision.

(I should be receiving school pictures of all 3 of the kids any day now - I will share those too)

Hamster Races

Last night Hailey, Joe and Alexis had their own hamster races in our upstairs hallway. We have hardwood floors upstairs so it makes for a perfect racetrack.

D.O.G.

We couldn't understand why we were able to pick up so
many different T.V. channels ~ and then realized it must
be because our dog D.O.G. has a satellite on his head! :0)

Unfortunately, D.O.G. has allergies so once he starts scratching
or licking a spot ~ he won't stop. He has now created a huge sore
on his leg. Clint and the Kids took him to the Vet on Friday and
they have prescribed him some medication to help. However,
if you put medicine on his leg ~ you guessed it ~ he licks it off.
So ~ he gets to be fashionable and wear the Head Cone! He continually
gives us the puppy dog eyes hoping that we will remove it.

Last Soccer Game~Fall 2008

Today was Hailey and Alexis' last soccer game of the Fall 2008-09 Soccer Season.

They both were having end of season parties and receiving trophies for their hard work during the soccer season.

We received Alexis' team soccer picture today ~ it is TOO cute!

She is on the front row - 5th from the left.
